POINTS CHAMPION

Well done to HOUSAIN who is this weeks point champion for LIONS. He is the person who won the most number of points for Tigers in the whole of the Juniors. Please ask your child what house they are in and how many house points they won this week.

Super Spellers

A HUGE well done to those children who got full marks in their spelling test. There was a massive 17 children in the class who managed to get all their spelling words right.

Science Whizz's!

This week in science we have been testing the absorbency of paper. Andrew and Nour were fantastic in creating a fair test for the class to carry out. We measured which of the following papers; kitchen roll, paper towel, newspaper and tissue paper were the most absorbent. Ask your children what we found out!

Parents' Meeting

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week we have parents meetings. Many of you have signed up to come and see one of your child's teachers, please remember to come on time and for those who you who haven't signed up please pop in and arrange a time. It's a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and what they can do to improve even more.

Lilac do Opera!!

EPOC (English Pocket Opera Company) visited Gateway this week and Years 3 and 4 were extremely lucky to spend an afternoon with them.
The children learnt about what opera is, the different types of opera singing and even how training to be an opera singer is simlar to training to be a footballer.
They found it particularly funny when the opera singer serenaded Miss Marks in Italian!
Some of the children were chosen to perform in our very own opera, 'The Magic Flute,' a few children from the class were chosen and Zaeem in particular had quite a large role to play.

Spelling Superstars

What a fabulous first week back.
The children had their spelling test today and over half the class got 10 out of 10, they are our spelling superstars.
